you go 8x12=96+8=104+8=112
s0 8x14=112 so 14 is the answer

21 lollies into 3 groups of 7 so 2/3 of 21 would be 14

ReplyDeleteHi Phoebe - I think Roneta means you used the place value strategy where you multiply the tens number and then the ones number.

Make 39 40
3 x 40 = 120 but then you have to take 3 away because you added 3 extra on my multiplying by 40 instead of 3.
